There are many types and kinds of DSLR camera new entry lens. Besides different types or type, any price difference is very striking, ranging from less than one million to hundreds of million rupiah. This may confuse those who are planning to buy DSLR camera new entry lens or increase collections. When the last article we assess how sajika DSLR lens quality, we now present a guide in choosing lens DSLR. Happy reading ..

Guidelines that we set up this time is general and simple, unlike the previous guidelines that specifically address Canon and Nikon lenses only. In this article we classify the various Nikon lenses main groups, namely on the basis of diameter, by type and by opening diaphragm.
Lens Diameter

First, based on the diameter of the lens, now there are two general classes, namely:

* Full-frame lens (35mm)
* Crop sensor lens

For full-frame lens, optical diameter larger than the crop sensor lenses. This is because the full-frame lenses are designed to be used in full-frame DSLR and 35mm film SLR. In the market, we need to recognize the code that shows a full-frame lenses, such as EF for Canon, for Nikon FX, etc. DG for Sigma.

While crop sensor lenses are smaller, designed for DSLR with a sensor smaller than full-frame sensor, which is APS-C sensors (Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony) and the sensor Four Thirds (Olympus). This lens has a smaller diameter than FLL-frame lens, but still has the same mounting design. That is, we could have put this lens on crop sensor DSLR full frame, but the results will have his picture on the outer circle of images (vignetting) due to sensor size is larger than the diameter of the lens. Crop sensor lens is recognized by codes such as the EF-S for Canon, Nikon DX to DC for Sigma, DA for Pentax and so on.

Figure in addition to showing the size difference between the APS-C sensors and sensor full-frame 35mm. Red circle indicates the diameter of a full-frame lens and a green circle shows the diameter of the lens crop. Appeared when the crop has a diameter lens designed to adjust the size of APS-C sensor which is smaller than 35mm sensors. Sometimes the owner of APS-C camera it full frame lenses. This is due to the professional needs of most lenses that are available are full-frame lens. For example, for the needs of professional, EOS 7D camera users will choose the lens EF 70-200mm.
Type of lens focal

Judging from the type of lens, there are two main groups namely fix lens (prime) and the zoom lens. Very simple, fixed lens means that only has one focal length values, are the zoom lens can be changed from shortest to longest focal. Zoom lens itself is divided into several focal range, such as wide zoom, normal zoom and tele zoom. There is also a broom lens universe, aka can play the zoom from wide to telephoto that is comfortable to carry travel. This time we describe a loss of any benefit options:

Prime lens / fix

                                                                   Canon EF 50mm

Prime lens is a lens that only has one focal value, eg 35mm, 50mm, 100mm and so on. The lens of this type generally have a large maximum opening, eg f/1.4 or f/1.8, so suitable for use during low light. Although there are various options of the lens focal fix on the market, but the most popular is because it had a 50mm lens focal with normal perspective.

The attractiveness of fixed lenses include:

* Relatively cheap
* Small size and lightweight
* The picture is very sharp
* Because a large opening, can produce a thin DOF
* Because a large opening, can be relied upon for low light

The less pleasant things than fix the lens is the lens can not change so to change the focal focal position we must go forward or backward to the object.

Wide zoom lens
                                                          NIKON NIKKOR Fish eye 10.5mm

Dalah wide zoom lens with a zoom lens wideangle focal range from 10mm to 30mm, making it suitable for landscape and architecture though less suitable for portraits because of the distortion.

The appeal of such a wide zoom lens:

* Able to produce images with wide angle and with a dramatic impression
* Suitable for professional and commercial needs

However, wide zoom lens sold at a high price because of the high level of difficulty in designing the lens. In the market, these lenses are sold in the price range of 6 million to 12 million rupiah.

Examples of wide zoom lens:

* Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
* Nikon AF-S 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5
* Pentax DA 12-24mm f / 4
* Sony SAL-DT 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6
* Olympus Zuiko 9-18mm f/4-5.6
* Recommendations for 3rd party: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

Zoom lens normal / standard (general purpose)

Olympus 14-35mm

Is a zoom lens with focal range is considered to meet the needs of ordinary wide to tele. Such lenses are able to accommodate the normal focal range of 50mm range so as to produce a low image distortion, and produce the same perspective as what is seen by the human eye. Normal zoom lens will be more expensive if you have large openings especially if a constant f/2.8 openings belonging profesi0nal class.

Example of a normal zoom lens expensive class:

* 24-70mm lens f/2.8
* 17-55mm lens f/2.8

While economic normal zoom lens including:

* Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6
* Nikon AF-S 16-85 f/3.5-5.6
* Pentax DA 17-70mm f / 4
* Sony SAL DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6
* Olympus Zuiko 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5
* 3rd party Recommendation: Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4

Telephoto zoom lens

                                                             Nikon AF-S 24-120mm

Telephoto zoom lens into the lens of one of many people's favorite because of its ability to be used for photographing distant objects, plus more affordable price. Not to mention a telephoto lens capable of producing images with good Bokeh (thin DOF), in a way close to the results obtained by using prime lenses.

But keep in mind that telephoto zoom lens telephoto focal range of 100mm above, so that the vulnerable rocker arms due to vibration. For that professionals prefer opening a large telephoto lens and features plus stabilizer, so the telephoto lens can still be used when less light conditions.

Telephoto zoom lens is divided into two groups, namely professional groups and ordinary groups.

For professional telephoto zoom such as:

* Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8
* Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 (picture above)
* Pentax DA 60-250mm f / 4
* Sony SAL 70-200mm f/2.8
* Olympus Zuiko 90-250mm f/2.8
* 3rd party Recommendation: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8

For ordinary tele zoom, generally there is a choice 70-300mm (picture above) the focal length and telenya enough 55-250mm (picture below) is more economical. Note that the economic telephoto lens has a variable aperture (f/4-5.6 example), so the opening will decrease when the lens at maximum zoom. So it was kind of a telephoto lens was avoided by professionals because it is difficult to rely on the high speed.
tele2

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6

However, economic telephoto lens like this selling well because it's cheap and the picture in place a fairly light still very good. Be the first such lens to be a favorite lens for daily needs and for hobbyists.

Lens all-round zoom / super zoom / broom universe
tamron_18-270

Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-5.6 VC

Is the term for the zoom lens with a wide range of capabilities to mencover extreme telephoto, this lens to be able to replace some types of lenses that are used practically anywhere. Generally, this lens has a focal range of 18-200mm, although some were able to reach the 18-270mm (see picture above). Some things to consider before choosing this type of lens:

* This lens is practical but quite expensive
* This lens is only available for all types of variable aperture
* The ability of the lens optics is considered a mediocre (because of the many optical elements in it)
* Try to choose this type of lens equipped with optical stabilizer feature

That guide chose DSLR lenses we present. For discussion and questions can be delivered through existing forums or through the comments below.
